ABS DWV pipe and fittings are manufactured to CAN/CSA-B181.1, the standard the Ontario Building Code references for plastic DWV systems in buildings. Solid-wall Schedule 40 is certified to B181.1; cell-core pipe is certified to ASTM F628, so check which your inspector expects before you buy.
The two details that most often send people back to the counter are hub configuration and turn radius. Spigot (SPG) ends slip into a hub; hub-by-hub fittings need a length of pipe between them. Long-turn elbows keep flow moving and are preferred on horizontal drainage runs, while short-turn fittings save space in tight framing. Get both wrong and the fitting simply will not go in.
