The Watts LF1170 Thermostatic Mixing Valve – Crimp PEX is a lead-free master thermostatic mixing valve designed to provide a safe, consistent tempered water supply in residential and commercial domestic hot water systems. Featuring Crimp PEX connections on the hot, cold, and mixed water ports, the valve installs directly into ASTM F1807 PEX piping systems using copper crimp rings or stainless steel clamp rings. A solid wax hydraulic thermostat with a double-throttling design continuously compensates for changes in inlet temperature and pressure to maintain a stable outlet temperature. Integral check valves and filter washers help prevent crossflow and protect the valve from debris while automatically restricting mixed water flow if the cold-water supply fails.

Usage

This thermostatic mixing valve is installed at the water heater or central domestic hot water system to blend hot and cold water before distributing tempered water throughout the building. The Crimp PEX connections provide a secure, permanent installation in ASTM F1807 PEX systems, making the valve ideal for new construction and retrofit projects. It allows higher water heater storage temperatures for increased hot water capacity and Legionella protection while supplying safe water temperatures to showers, sinks, lavatories, and other plumbing fixtures in residential, commercial, institutional, and healthcare facilities.
