Designed for installation below the frost line, it features a 1 in Female NPT inlet for high-capacity water supply connections and a 3/4 in male garden hose thread outlet for standard hose attachments. Its automatic draining valve empties the standpipe each time the hydrant is shut off—even with a hose attached—helping prevent freeze damage in cold climates. Constructed with a rugged cast brass valve body, galvanized steel casing and operating pipe, and long-life graphite packing, the Model Y1 is built for dependable service in demanding outdoor environments.
