WOODFORD - Backflow Preventer, Brass - 50HA-BR

The Woodford 50HA-BR Automatic Draining Double-Check Backflow Preventer is a genuine OEM brass replacement backflow preventer designed for compatible Woodford wall faucets and yard hydrants. Featuring 1-1/8 in–18 special inlet threads and a 3/4 in male garden hose thread outlet, this patented device incorporates two linked but independent check valves that automatically open a drainage path when the hose is removed. This design allows the faucet or hydrant to drain completely, helping prevent freeze damage while protecting the potable water supply from backflow contamination. The Model 50HA is ASSE 1052 approved and is intended for irrigation and hose connection applications requiring high-flow double-check backflow protection.

Usage

The 50HA-BR is installed on compatible Woodford wall faucets and yard hydrants to replace a worn or damaged backflow preventer or to upgrade older units. It protects potable water systems by preventing contaminated water from flowing back through a connected hose while automatically draining the hydrant after the hose is disconnected to reduce the risk of freezing.
