The 5M Full Port Ball Valve with Drain – Sweat × Crimp PEX is a lead-free forged brass transition ball valve designed to connect copper tubing to ASTM F1807/F2159 crimp PEX tubing while providing an integrated drain port for servicing and winterization. It features a sweat (solder) connection on one end and a PEX crimp barb connection on the other, allowing a secure transition between copper and PEX plumbing systems. The full-port ball design delivers maximum flow with minimal pressure loss, while the quarter-turn lever handle provides fast shutoff. Available with blue or red handles, the valve simplifies identification of cold- and hot-water lines.

Usage

This valve is installed where a copper water line transitions to a PEX crimp system and where a drain feature is required for maintenance, testing, or seasonal draining. The sweat connection is soldered onto copper tubing, while the PEX barb is secured using a copper crimp ring or stainless steel clamp ring on compatible PEX tubing. The integrated drain port allows the downstream section of the piping system to be emptied after the valve is closed, making it ideal for water heaters, branch lines, manifolds, outdoor water systems, and plumbing service applications.
