ICMA Normally Closed Electrothermal Actuator with Microswitch

The ICMA Normally Closed Electrothermal Actuator with Microswitch is an ON/OFF actuator designed for automatic control of water flow through compatible hydronic heating and cooling valves and manifolds. This model operates on 24 V power and uses a 28 × 1.5 mm valve connection. Its normally closed (NC) configuration keeps the connected valve closed when electrical power is absent. An integrated end-of-stroke microswitch provides a potential-free auxiliary contact that can be used for system control functions such as activating a circulator or boiler once the actuator reaches its operating position.

Usage

The actuator mounts onto a compatible thermostatic valve or hydronic manifold and can be controlled by a room thermostat. When energized, it operates the valve to control the circulation of heating or cooling fluid through the associated zone. Because this version includes an auxiliary microswitch, it can also provide an electrical control signal for equipment such as a boiler or circulation pump. It is suitable for applications including radiant-floor heating manifolds, hydronic zone control, fan-coil systems, and other compatible heating and cooling circuits.
