The Watts LFL1170-M2 Thermostatic Mixing Valve – Crimp PEX is a lead-free master thermostatic mixing valve designed to accurately blend hot and cold water to deliver a safe, consistent tempered water supply throughout residential and commercial domestic hot water systems. Featuring 3/4 in Crimp PEX connections on the hot, cold, and mixed water ports, the valve utilizes a solid wax hydraulic thermostat with a double-throttling design that continuously adjusts to changes in inlet temperature and pressure. Integral check valves and filter washers help prevent crossflow and protect the internal components, while the valve automatically restricts mixed water flow in the event of a cold-water supply failure for enhanced user safety.

Usage

This thermostatic mixing valve is installed at the water heater to blend hot and cold water before distributing tempered water throughout the building. It allows the water heater to operate at higher storage temperatures for increased capacity and legionella protection while delivering safe water temperatures to plumbing fixtures.
