The 5M Lead-Free Thermostatic Mixing Valve Kit – Sweat with Crimp PEX Adapters is a thermostatic mixing valve package designed to deliver safe, consistent tempered water while simplifying installation in Crimp PEX plumbing systems. The valve features sweat (solder) copper connections and includes lead-free Crimp PEX adapters that convert the valve for use with ASTM F1807 PEX piping. The thermostatic element continuously blends hot and cold water to maintain a stable outlet temperature despite fluctuations in inlet temperature or pressure, helping reduce the risk of scalding while allowing higher water heater storage temperatures for improved hot water capacity and Legionella protection.
Usage
This mixing valve kit is installed at the water heater or central domestic hot water system to temper hot water before distribution to plumbing fixtures. The valve is soldered to the included PEX adapters, which are then connected to Crimp PEX tubing using copper crimp rings or stainless steel clamp rings. It is ideal for residential and commercial potable water systems where safe outlet temperatures, scald protection, and easy transition from copper to PEX piping are required.
